Résumé

This Resolution consisting of 9 articles establishes that it is prohibited to trade in any sample of the species listed in Annex 1 of the Convention, and a license may be granted for importing, exporting or re-exporting for scientific purposes or for other agreed-upon purposes to licensed governmental or private entities, provided that this is not primarily for commercial purposes (art.2). The same article lists also the conditions to have the permit granted. It is not permissible to trade in specimens of the species listed in Appendix 2 of the Convention, except within the limits of an annual quota, determined by a decision of the National Committee of the Convention. An export permit is granted after fulfilling the conditions listed in article 3. Trading in samples of the rest of the species listed in Annex 3 of the Convention shall be pursuant to export permits granted by the competent administrative authority. Article 5 deals with the rules for the inspection of the shipments. In the case of exporting, re-exporting, or importing from a country that is not a member of the Convention, may be accepted similar documents issued by the competent authorities in that country that are per the requirements of the Convention (art.6). Article 8 regards the provisions in the case of violation of the Resolution.
