Résumé This Resolution approves the Rotterdam Convention on hazardous and highly toxic pesticides (PIC) within the territory of Angola and consequently requires that its domestic legislation shall be harmonized with provisions of the Convention. The above mentioned Convention, consisting of 30 articles and 5 Annexes, aims at promoting the mutual responsibility and efforts of cooperation between the Parts in the international trade of specific dangerous chemical products. The objective of this Convention is to promote shared responsibility and cooperative efforts among Parties in the international trade of certain hazardous chemicals in order to protect human health and the environment from potential harm and to contribute to their environmentally sound use, by facilitating information exchange about their characteristics, by providing for a national decision-making process on their import and export and by disseminating these decisions to Parties.
