Article 1 deals with requirements and conditions necessary for the importation of feed and feedstuff (millet gluten) as follows: (a) feed and feedstuff shall be suitable for animals, poultry and fish; (b) feed and feedstuff shall be free from poisonous seeds and toxicity residues as well as free from hormones and anabolic steroids; (c) the percentage of radioactivity shall be compatible with the limits defined by the Syrian Atomic Energy; (d) labels on the packages shall contain the name of the imported material, name of the producer, country of origin, date of production, expiry date, net weight and chemical compounds; (e) the millet gluten shall have an acceptable smell, colour and taste; (f) the gluten millet shall be free from mouldy and living insects; (g) the maximum limit of humidity shall be 12 percent; (h) minimum percentage of protein shall be 55%; (i) maximum of raw fibres shall be 5%; (j) maximum of raw ashes shall be 3%; and, (k) maximum of flatoxine shall be 0.02 mg/kg. The implementing measures of article 2 of Resolution 45/T of 1999 on feed control shall be applied to the millet gluten.
