The Resolution enters into force on 1 January 2023.
Résumé

The Resolution lays down regulations for health of aquaculture animals and the products thereof when placing on market, importing and transiting; minimum preventive measures against the disease of aquaculture animals; and minimum control measures that need to be undertaken in case of a suspicion of certain type of disease or outbreak among water animals. The Resolution consists of 13 chapters: General provisions (I); Aquaculture production and authorized processing enterprises (II); Requirements imposed on aquaculture animal health and placing its products on market (III); Importing aquaculture animals and their products (IV); Alert about aquaculture animal disease and minimum measures of control (V); Control programs and vaccination (VI); Disease-free status (VII); Agency and laboratory (VIII); Information that need to be entered in the registry of aquaculture production and authorized processing enterprises (IX); Health status of aquaculture zones and compartments which needs to be taken into account when using Article 11 of this regulation (requirements imposed on placing aquaculture animals on market) (X); Adding a disease to the list (XI); Requirements imposed on recognizing a country, a zone or a compartment as disease-free (XII); and Criteria and requirements imposed on emergency plans (XIII). According to the document, the requirements of conservation of species and introducing alien species under the Georgian legislation need to be followed when implementing this regulation. The regulation is implemented by the National Food Agency of Georgia.
