Résumé This Resolution is composed of 6 articles. Article 1 deals with the following requirements and conditions necessary for trawl fishing vessels: (a) the minimum size of the trawl fishing mesh net shall not be less than 20 mm for the first two seasons, after that the size shall be at least 25 mm; (b) the depth of the water shall be at least 50 m; and, (c) trawl fishing shall be prohibited every year from 1 May to 30 September. Trawl fishing in the Syrian Territorial Sea shall be revoked from the beginning of 2006 and the preparation and regulation measures shall be carried out according to the following gradually phases: (1) foreign fishing in outside of the territorial water by the use of two vessels belonging to the Fish General Authority and by one vessel belonging to the Foreign Fishing Cooperative from 1 October 2003; (2) the limitation to use only two drag fishing vessels in the territorial water from 1 October 2003 to 21 December 2005 (art. 2). The Fish General Authority and Foreign Fishing Cooperative for foreign fish shall prepare a study of all requests and requirements necessary for their drag fishing vessels to operate outside of the territorial water (art. 3) All transgressions and violations shall be subject to the penalties provided for in Aquatic Living Protection Law (art. 5).
