Résumé

The Resolution regulates the alert system which is used when radioactive substance is identified at Georgian borders. It consists of 11 articles: Scope of regulation (1); Definition of terms (2); Responsible agencies (3); Identifying and seizing substances subject to radioactive control (4); Assessing, neutralizing, packaging, transporting, isolating, storing substances subject to radioactive control and monitoring of these procedures (5); Training of specialists (6); Main principles of response (7); Responding to an alert when substances subject to radioactive control are identified (8); Responding to an alert when I and II group substances are identified (9); Responding to an alert when III and IV group substances are identified (10); and Measures to be undertaken for radioactive safety in Georgian ports and airports (11). The purpose of the regulation is to eradicate illegal circulation of nuclear and radioactive substances and to ensure nuclear safety of Georgia.
