Résumé The Resolution regulates management of medical waste. It consists of 12 articles: General provisions (1); Definition of terms (2); Classification of medical waste (3); Environmental protection administrator (4); Waste management plan (5); General rules for collection and storage of medical waste (6); Waste management in a medical facility (7); Transportation of medical waste from a medical facility (8); Management of water discharge by a medical facility (9); Processing medical waste (10), Waste minimization policy of a medical facility (11); and Health and safety practices for the personnel of a medical facility working on medical waste (12). The Resolution does not apply to radioactive waste. The document provides that a medical facility must separate, collect, store, transport and process medical waste according to this Resolution.
