The main objectives of this Concept shall be as follows: (a) to harmonize the system of consumer protection in Ukraine with EU principles, approaches and practices; (b) to adapt national consumer protection legislation to EU legislation in line with Ukraine's obligations under the Association Agreement; (c) to ensure constitutional guarantees of safety and quality of consumption, including by making it impossible to reduce the level of consumer protection attained; (d) to create conditions for the introduction and development of consumer education at all levels, increasing the level of consumer literacy; (e) to ensure the introduction of transparent and effective mechanisms of interaction between governmental bodies, local self-government bodies, public associations of consumers, business representatives in the sphere of consumer protection; (f) to improve consumer information on commodities and services in the consumer market, which should be accessible, objective, reliable and timely, including information provided through the Internet, to warn of potential risks and risks for consumption; (g) to ensure transparency of feedback between consumers and all executive authorities on consumer complaints and claims, compensation for harm to consumers in the event of their rights being violated; (h) to create conditions for effective pre-trial (alternative) settlement of consumer disputes; and (i) to promote the development of a system of independent research related to quality and safety of commodities, works and services in the consumer market.
