The protected area includes the following zones: from the Alhuwaish Valley to Annameer Hill; Amayyet River; from Almashajer Valley to Annameer Hill; from Ain Zahla to Ain Alghara and from Ain Alghara to the mouth of the Araqa River in the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore the protection area extends from the source of the River to the mouth long and for 500 metres from the centre of the course of the River in the direction of the two banks width. The Ministry of the Environment coordinating with the Urbanization Planning Department defines conditions and requirements for permits and license necessary for possible works in the aforementioned areas.
