This Resolution enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Résumé

This Resolution is composed of 6 articles. The requirements for the importation of livestock are: to be imported from region free from epidemic, parasites and diseases like Trypanosome and Theileria; to be accompanied with sanitary and veterinary certificates issued by the country of origin; to be vaccinated against Rinderpest, Cattle Plague and against Foot-and-Mouth Disease as well as to be detained in quarantine for at least 20 days from the date of vaccination (art. 1). The requirements for the importation of meat are: the animal must be sane and disease free; the animal must be slaughtered in an authorized slaughtering house; calf age must not be more than 30 months and the age of kids and lambs must not be more than 24 months (art. 2). Requirements for meat processing and preparation (art. 3). Requirements and prescriptions for transportation and loading of for frozen and deep-frozen meat (art. 4). General requirements and conditions for loading and transportation of live animals and meat (art. 5).
