Résumé

The aim of this Resolution is to lay down regulations for the protection from radiation and for the security and safety of its sources. It is composed of 16 Chapters divided into 89 articles and 2 Annexes. Chapter I gives terms and definitions. Chapter II deals with the following matters: objectives; scope of application; exceptions; exemptions; clearance levels; and, sources originators of grave damages. Chapter III define rules and requirements for licensing activities related to radiation. Chapter IV pertains to the protection from radiation in particular: justification of practices and activities; respect of dose limits; and, improvement and perfecting of the protection and prevention against radiation. Chapters V and VI provide for the security and safety of radiation sources especially: general responsibilities; requirements and descriptions of sources; projecting and realization of installations; immediate communication about any defect; inventory of sources; radiation storage; and, utilization and driving advantages from experiences. Chapter VII addresses the verification and control of radiation protection and sources. Chapter VIII refers to the management responsibilities in particular: security and safety culture; warranty and security of high quality; human factors; and, liabilities. Chapters IX to XIII deal with the following matters: radiation protection officers; protection against radiation in occupational, medical, public exposure; and, protection against natural radioactive materials. Chapter XIV lays down requirements and conditions for the safety and security of radioactive waste disposal. Chapter XV defines requirements and measures for the intervention in cases of emergency. Chapter XVI contains general provisions. Annex I contains the classification of sealed sources. Annex II defines dose limits.
