Majority of Resolution's clauses enter into force from 1 January 2018. The remaining clauses enter into force from 1 January 2020.
Résumé

The Resolution aims to establish unified principles for regulating use in stockfarming of certain substances having hormonal or thyrostatic action and of beta-agonists. It consists of 12 articles: General provisions (1); Definition of terms (2); Prohibition of use of substances included in the Resolution’s Annex 1 (3); Prohibition of substances included in the Resolution’s Annex 1 and temporary prohibition of substances included in the Resolution’s Annex 2 (4); Exceptional uses of the substances and the associated rules (5); Other exceptions to the prohibition (6); Requirements imposed on the substances that can be used in the exceptional cases noted in articles 5 and 6 (7); Permitted forms of placing animals on market (8); State control of veterinary drugs (9); Obligations of business operators (10); Other regulations of the subject matter (11); and Import of animals (12). The Resolution also includes Annex 1 on Prohibited Substances; and Annex 2 on Temporarily Prohibited Substances. Overall, the Resolution intends to regulate the use of the substances in livestock farming for consumer protection.
