Résumé The purpose of this Resolution, consisting of 24 articles and seven Annexes, is to establish norms and criteria for the environmental licensing to perform aquaculture activity. This Resolution does not apply to shrimp farming in the coastal zone, object of CONAMA Resolution No. 312, of October 10, 2002. In the case of environmental licensing of aquaculture enterprises located in waters under the Union's domain, in addition to the provisions of this Resolution, specific rules must be followed for obtaining authorization for the use of bodies of water under the Union's domain. The preliminary license or single environmental license must be submitted to the responsible body to obtain the above mentioned authorization. The procedures established in this Resolution apply, at any level of competence, to the environmental licensing of aquaculture activities and ventures, without prejudice to the licensing processes already regulated by the States, Municipalities and Federal District in specific legislation, considering local environmental aspects.
