Résumé

This Resolution of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), adopted in accordance with the provisions of Article IX, paragraph 1 of the IOTC Agreement, concerns improvement of compliance with reporting obligations of by CPCs (especially improvement of CPC data collection for direct and incidental catches, including catches of sharks). CPCs shall include information in their Annual Reports (Report of Implementation) on actions taken to implement their reporting obligations for all IOTC fisheries. The IOTC Compliance Committee shall annually review such actions taken by CPCs. The Commission may consider certain measures in case of non-compliance with reporting obligations. The procedure for reporting on zero catches in accordance with the Resolution 15/02, paragraph 2 is simplified. Reporting. A CPC affected by civil conflict that cannot meet reporting obligations will work with the IOTC Secretariat to identify and implement possible alternative methods for data collection, using established FAO data collection methods.
