Résumé The Philippine Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Act, consisting of seven Articles, declares a policy of the State to promote, strengthen and regulate the practice of agricultural and biosystems engineering profession in the Philippines by instituting measures that will result in relevant agricultural and biosystems engineering education and enhanced roles and better career prospects for agricultural and biosystems engineers. Likewise, the State hereby guarantees the application and delivery of agricultural and biosystems engineering services to accelerate agricultural and fishery modernization: and ensure food and water security, bio-energy development, natural resources conservation, environmental protection and human health and safety by fostering the training and development of an adequate and well-trained pool of agricultural and biosystems engineers in the country. This Act shall cover the following aspects of the practice of the profession of agricultural and biosystems engineering: (a) Examination, registration and licensing of agricultural and biosystems engineers: (b) Supervision, control and regulation of the practice of agricultural and biosystems engineering: (c) Development, upgrading and updating of the curriculum of the agricultural and biosystems engineering profession in coordination with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the concerned state universities and colleges (SUCs): (d) Development and improvement of the professional competence and practice of agricultural and biosystems engineers. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and career progression and specialization; and (e) Integration of all agricultural and biosystems engineers under one national Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) of agricultural and biosystems engineers which shall be recognized by the Board of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
