Résumé These Regulations lay down rules for the identification and survey of cultural and historic properties in advance of development; the criteria for recognition as a cultural and historic property; the classification of the significance level of prehistoric, historic and traditional sites; the protection of cultural and historic properties; the permitting procedures for public lands; and offences and penalties in accordance with the Section 21 of the Historic Preservation Act 1991. The clearing of vegetation using hand tools; agricultural activities on lands which have been historically used for land use activities, and the preservation of scenic, historic, and scientific areas, including wildlife reserves, are exempt from the requirements of 8th section on land use activities.
