Résumé

These Regulations concern hygienic requirements in the handling of food. Handling includes manufacturing, processing, producing, packing, preparing, keeping, offering, storing, transporting or displaying for sale or for serving of means a foodstuff intended for human consumption as defined in section 1 of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act, 1972. No person shall handle food in a manner contrary to the provisions of these Regulations and no person shall handle food or permit food to be handled: (a) on food premises in respect of which a valid certificate of acceptability has not been issued or is not in force; (b) in contravention of any restriction or condition or stipulation contained. Other provisions of these Regulations deal, inter alia, with standards and requirements for the handling of meat, standards and requirements for the transport of food, and handling of unprocessed products. A person in charge of food premises may apply to the local authority for exemption from any of the provisions of these Regulations, excluding exemption from the issuing of a certificate of acceptability.
