The main purpose of the Council is to formulate proposals and recommendations on the most important issues of the state seed policy, providing assistance to the Government in coordinated operation of all subjects of seed production. The main objectives of the Council are: (a) to work out proposals on problems affecting the main direction of seed production development; (b) ensuring the participation of all subjects of seed and processing industry in discussing the issues of seed policy; (c) to make proposals to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on issues, connected with multiplication, trade and processing, as well as export and import of variety seeds; (d) developing policy to provide economic entities with variety of seeds in case of emergencies; (e) development of normative acts regulating the relations in seed industry; and (f) participating in the consideration of international treaties, conventions and agreements on issues related to seed production.
