Résumé This Regulation, as in accordance with provisions of the Serbian Law on waste management, prescribes the manner and procedure for the management of waste fluorescent tubes containing mercury. Management of mercury-containing waste fluorescent tubes is a set of measures that includes the collection, sorting, transport, storage and treatment of mercury-containing waste fluorescent tubes or disposal of residues after related treatments. The management of waste fluorescent tubes containing mercury is carried out in a manner and according to a procedure that does not pose a risk of water, soil or air pollution, and which can be avoided, in order to protect the human health and the environment in general. The provisions of this text shall apply to fluorescent tubes containing mercury, as follows: 1) compact fluorescent light sources with mercury content up to 5 mg; 2) flat fluorescent light sources for general purposes in which the content of mercury compounds does not exceed the following values: (1) halophosphates 10 mg, (2) triphosphates with a normal shelf life of 5 mg, (3) triphosphates with a long shelf life of 8 mg; 3) flat fluorescent light sources for special purposes containing mercury.
