Résumé This Regulation provides for the procedures and principles regarding the planning of hazelnut production and determining the planting areas, as well as principles for providing support to farmers who intend to shift from hazelnut production to alternative crops. Individuals and companies who wish to establish hazelnut plantations should apply to the provincial directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs to obtain hazelnut production permits. Procedural details are given in the Regulation. With the enforcement of this Regulation, all hazelnut producers are obliged to submit a statement on their lands and production. The Ministry shall inspect all hazelnut areas within one year from the entry into force of this Regulation, and hazelnut producer certificates will be given to hazelnut farmers. Alternative Crop Programs will be implemented in Artvin, Düzce, Giresun, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Ordu, Rize, Sakarya, Samsun, Sinop, Trabzon, Zonguldak and Bartin provinces. Technical support will be provided to farmers who intend to shift from hazelnut production to alternative crops, and shifting costs will be reimbursed in cash. Procedures are given in the Regulation.
