Résumé This Regulation has been drafted with the aim of registering and monitoring equidaes by providing effective veterinary checks to eradicate infectious or contagious animal diseases, keeping the records of animal health and welfare more regularly and by identifying equidaes in livestock enterprises. To this end, this Regulation sets forth provisions on identification system, identification document, duties and responsibilities of the Ministry of Food Agriculture and Livestock and authorized institutions, identification of imported equidaes from countries outside the EU, authentication of identification documents, movement and transfer of registered equidae, equidae for breeding and production, and equidae with temporary admission, establishment of a database, and administrative sanctions. This Regulation has been drafted in line with the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/262 of 17 February 2015 laying down rules pursuant to Council Directives 90/427/EEC and 2009/156/EC as regards the methods for the identification of equidae (Equine Passport Regulation).
