It shall be located in the Kaluga province with the total area of 98,6 thousand ha. Reserve shall have the following purposes: (a) conservation and protection of unique natural ecosystems (landscape conservation); (b) conservation and protection of wild fauna and wild flora species; (c) conservation of cultural heritage; (d) ecological monitoring; (e) ecological education; and (f) regulated tourism and recreation. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of reserve: (a) exploration, prospecting and mining; (b) any activity that can cause soil disturbance; (c) any activity that can cause modification of the existing hydrological regime; (d) construction of highways, pipelines and communication routes; (e) timber extraction and procurement of non-timber forest products; (f) commercial fisheries and hunting; and (g) removal of the objects of cultural heritage.
