It shall be located in the Vladimir province with the total area of 118,7 thousand ha. Reserve shall have the following purposes: (a) conservation and protection of unique natural ecosystems (wetlands of the basins of rivers Buzhi and Paul, Svyatoye lake); (b) restoration of disturbed natural, historical and cultural complexes; (c) conservation of cultural heritage; (d) ecological monitoring; (e) ecological research; and (f) regulated tourism and recreation. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of reserve: (a) exploration, prospecting and mining; (b) waste management and waste disposal; (c) application of chemicals for pest control; (d) expropriation of land; (e) commercial hunting and fisheries; (f) timber extraction and procurement of non-timber forest products; (g) introduction and acclimatization of living organisms; and (h) removal of the objects of cultural heritage.
