It shall implement Decrees issued by the Ministry of Agriculture. Its specific tasks are: elaboration of rules, regulations, and instructions regarding plant quarantine; research on "structure of species and bio-ecology" of pests and diseases, elaborate conditions for importation of plants and plant products from other states, elaborate methods of quarantine analysis, methods of disinfecting, inspection of crops, nurseries, etc. It shall also establish quarantine divisions in districts and micro-districts in the territory of Tajikistan.
