Résumé This Regulation applies the federal facilities for the disposal of radioactive waste in accordance with the Atomic Energy Act. According to this Regulation long term safety means the permanent protection of people and human health and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation from radioactive waste. The assessment period from the planned closure of the repository system is one million years. Development of the repository system depends on the geological and climate situation, technical and geotechnical barriers and the waste to be stored. The radioactive waste to be emplaced shall be concentrate and safely enclosed in the repository system. The planned repository system has to ensure the safe confinement of the radioactive waste. All created or already existing cavities and bores should be documented. The work should follow the goals of long-term safety of the repository with the quality of the safe confinement of the radioactive waste and robustness of the repository system.
