Résumé The objective of this regulation is to define rules and principles of the 7-members National Food Codex Commission, composed of two representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, one representative from the Ministry of Health, two scientists who would be selected separately by these two ministries, one representative from the Institute of Turkish Standards, and one representative from the largest NGO on the field. Members are selected for a 2-year term. The main tasks of this Commission include; (i) preparing and monitoring the food codex and supervising the activities of the sub-commission, (ii) selecting the members of sub commissions and preparing their work schedules, (iii) defining the legislation on food codex, (iv) assessing the applications submitted by pertinent public and private agencies, (v) assessing the recommendations made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and (vi) other tasks indicated in the regulation. The National Food Codex Commission convenes twice a year. A special sub-commission is set up, especially to prepare food codex drafts by taking EU Legislation, Codex Alimentarius Approaches, and national and international legislations into consideration.
