Résumé

This Regulation concerns animal health conditions for import and export within the EEA and import and transit of sheep and goats from approved third countries. It refers to EU legislation with EEA relevance as included in the Annex to the EEA. The Regulation sets out general and specific requirements for the importation of sheep and goats from other EEA countries. One can only trade live livestock that has either been born and since birth have stayed within the EEA or have been imported into the EEA from a third country in accordance with the rules in Chapter III of the this Regulations. It is prohibited to send animals vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease from one EEA country to another. The animals must be accompanied by an original health certificate as shown in Appendix C. It must be signed by the public veterinarian. Other general conditions concern transportation. Specific conditions apply also to breeding animals and to animals intended for immediate slaughter. The Regulation specifies from which third countries animals may be imported. It also deals with laboratory tests for specific diseases.
