Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force on 29 December 2017.
Résumé

This Regulation, consisting of 13 articles divided into nine Chapters, regulates salt and commodity import aiming to protect salt farmers. The scope of this Ministerial Regulation includes: a) type and standard of salt quality; b) place of import; c) time of entry; d) salt absorption; and e) import recommendation. The type of salt that enters into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia is the salt included in the Tariff Post/HS. The type of salt that enters the territory of the State Indonesia shall comply with salt quality standards. The quality standard of imported salt refers to the quality standard specified in the Indonesian Customs Tariff Book (BTKI) 2017. Salt import must meet the national salt requirement and the entry point as referred to in article 3. The Minister may stipulate another entry point based on the proposal of the minister in charge of government affairs in the field of industry. Salt Import Recommendations are published by the Minister and given to ministers in charge of government affairs in the field of trade.
