This Regulation enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

This Resolution consisting of 12 articles aims at organizing the structure of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in Jordan. Article 3 establishes that the Ministry assumes full responsibility for water, sanitation, and related projects, as well as the responsibility for the development of the Jordan Valley, taking the necessary measures to fulfill this development. The Ministry's goals consist of raising and developing the level of the water sector, including its organization, monitoring, and the level of quality of water services. For this purpose, it has the following tasks and powers (i) developing water sector policies; (ii) strategic planning for the water sector and laying down national strategies and plans for water and the necessary executive programs; (iii) developing international agreements related to the water sector and following up on their implementation; (iv) managing and organizing water resources, setting the necessary foundations for that, and monitoring groundwater wells to include setting up control mechanisms, building a database, and issuing reports on groundwater wells; (v) finance and water economics management; (vi) preparing water studies and scientific research to develop the level of performance of the water sector.
