Résumé

Based on the Reindeer Husbandry Agreement (Reindriftsavtalen), the present Regulation lays down rules on a subsidy scheme aimed at compensating for a portion of the expenses incurred by affected districts, siidas (reindeer herding communities), and siida shares due to the absence of a reindeer grazing convention between Norway and Sweden. Subsidies may be granted to a district, siida, siida share, or reindeer owner who had the right to graze reindeer in Sweden based on the revoked Reindeer Grazing Convention, dated February 9, 1972, No. 1, for feeding and/or moving reindeer, transportation of reindeer feed, as well as other necessary measures related to feeding and moving reindeer if: 1) The applicant is prevented from using their traditional winter grazing areas due to the absence of a reindeer grazing convention; or 2) The applicant incurs additional expenses as a result of choosing to utilize their traditional winter grazing areas in Sweden. he Regulation contains detailed rules on requirements for the subsidy as well as procedural aspects of the scheme.
