Résumé The Regulation implements regulations with regard to fishing quota of capelin in 2012 in the Northeast Atlantic and Barents Sea (ICES statistical areas I and II). It is not permitted to do so within 4 nautical miles from the Norwegian coast, however exeption aras are specified in article 16. Norwegian vessels may fish from 23 January 2012 a total of 221 000 tons of capelin in the southern area of 74° N and the western area of 32° E, with the exception of fishery protection zone around Svalbard, and with the limitations in adherence to article 16 of this Regulation. Of this total catch 5 000 tons shall be allocated for research and education purposes. Vessels with purse seine permits are allowed to fishing and landing up to 158 832 tons, and group-fishing thereof is specified in Chapters 2 and 3.
