Résumé

These Regulations are made by the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science pursuant to the provisions of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science Act. The Regulations aim to ensure compliance by the general public and feed business operators. It also aims to ensure that all operators use only ingredients listed and approved by the Institute for the manufacture of feed, ensure that animal products in Nigeria conform to international benchmarks on animal feed safety and ensure/promote delivery of wholesome livestock products and by-products. The Regulations provide for the procedure for the registration of feed business entities. As such, unregistered feed businesses are prohibited. The operation, planning and control of feed mills including provisions requiring feed mills to have documented plans, to be located away from polluted areas prone to flooding, pest infestation and wastes, etc. The Regulations provide for a range of fines and penalties as punishment for contravention of the provisions
