This Regulation enters into force on the day it is published in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

This Regulation adds definitions of nutritional claim as "any claim which states, suggests or implies that a food has particular beneficial nutritional properties due to the energy (calorific value) it provides/provides at a reduced or increased rate/does not provide and the nutrients or other substances it contains/contains in reduced or increased proportions/does not contain", and average consumer as "reasonably well-informed, reasonably observant and circumspect consumer". This Regulation amends Article 5 regarding application evaluation by the Scientific Committee and adding information of approved vitamins and minerals to labels in accordance with the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on labeling and provision of food information to consumers. Moreover, this Regulation makes changes in Article 9 regarding tolerable upper intake levels of vitamins and minerals, Article 11 regarding potential risks of excess amounts of vitamins and minerals, minor changes in several articles and adds Annex-III.
