This Regional Law enters into force 10 days after the date of its official publication.
Résumé

This Regional Law regulates legal relations to ensure the radiation safety of the regional population and determines the powers of the regional state authorities in the field of radiation safety. The powers of the regional Legislative Assembly in the field of radiation safety include: (a) adoption of regional laws in the field of radiation safety; (b) control over the implementation of this Regional Law and other regional laws in the field of radiation safety; and (c) exercising other powers in the field of ensuring radiation safety. The powers of the Regional Government in the field of ensuring radiation safety include: (a) adoption of regulatory legal acts in the field of ensuring radiation safety within its powers; (b) development, approval and implementation of the regional state programs in the field of radiation safety; (c) determination of the authorized regional executive body competent in the field of radiation safety; (d) organization of control over the radiation situation in the regional territory; (e) participation in the organization and conduct of operational activities in the event of a threat of a radiation accident on the regional territory; (f) participation in the implementation of measures to eliminate the consequences of radiation accidents; (g) provision of conditions for the implementation and protection of the rights of citizens and the observance of the interests of the state in the field of ensuring radiation safety within their powers; (h) interaction with territorial bodies of federal executive bodies authorized to exercise state administration, state supervision and control in the field of ensuring radiation safety; (i) coordination of decisions on the placement and construction of radioactive waste storage facilities; and (j) determining the procedure for notifying local governments of the regional municipalities, federal executive authorities in the field of state regulation of security and providing assistance to the population if necessary.
