Résumé This Regional Law establishes legal basis for the development of tea growing in the regional territory. The scope of this Regional Law shall be to restore and develop tea growing in the regional territory by stimulating the activity of tea leaf producers, creating economic conditions for the production and supply to the consumer market of competitive tea that meets international standards. This Regional Law is directed at protection of quality and safety of the grown tea leaf and the tea made in the regional territory. The objects of tea growing shall be tea plantations, tea planting material, tea leaf, tea grown and produced in the regional territory. Subjects of tea growing shall be legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, peasant farms registered in the regional territory and engaged in tea planting material cultivation, planting and maintenance of tea plantations, cultivation and processing of tea leaves, as well as tea production. Regional policy in the field of tea growing shall be aimed at: (a) restoration, preservation and use of existing tea plantations, planting new tea plantations, increase of tea leaf production; (b) stimulating activities and increasing production of natural, high-quality, organic tea produced from tea leaves grown in the regional territory; (c) preserving existing and creating new jobs in the tea industry; (d) protecting the economic interests of the regional tea leaf and tea producers; (e) creating equal conditions for all subjects of tea growing; and (f) promotion of tea produced on the regional territory. The authorized regional institution shall register and keep record of tea plantation. State support of tea growing shall be granted in the form of partial compensation of expenditure for planting of tea plantations and purchase of equipment for cultivation of tea.
