Résumé The present Regional Law regulates the relations in the sphere of environmental audit and envisages ensuring environmental safety and the implementation of the requirements of the regional legislation in the sphere of environmental protection and nature management. Environmental audit is setting up of the compliance of the projected economic and other activity with the environmental requirements and determination of the admissibility of the realization of the objects of environmental audit for the purpose of prevention of the possible unfavourable environmental impact of the aforesaid activity. There are two types of ecological audit: 1) state environmental audit; 2) public environmental audit. The Regional Law consists of 10 Sections composed of 33 articles. Section 1 (arts. 1-4) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (arts. 5-9) establishes plenary powers of the regional and local administration in the sphere of environmental audit. Section 3 (arts. 10-17) regards state environmental audit. Section 4 (arts. 18-22) establishes the rights of the citizens and public organizations (associations) in the sphere of environmental audit and determines public environmental audit. Section 5 (arts. 23-24) establishes the rights and the duties of the customers of the documentation subject to environmental audit. Section 6 (arts. 25-26) regards financing of environmental audit. Section 7 (arts. 27-29) establishes liability for the infringement of the regional legislation on environmental audit. Section 8 (art. 30) regards dispute settlement.
