Nature ornithological park in the Imereti lowland includes natural complexes and objects of significant ecological and aesthetic value and intended for use in nature conservation, educational and recreational purposes. Nature ornithological park is formed for an unlimited period of time. The purpose of creating a natural ornithological park is to preserve natural complexes and objects of significant ecological and aesthetic value, for their use in environmental, educational and recreational purposes, as well as to create conditions for recreation (including mass recreation) and preserve recreational resources. The natural ornithological park was created for the conservation, restoration, reproduction of wild fauna species and their habitat, primarily rare and endangered wild fauna species listed in the national and regional Red Books, and other valuable in economic, scientific and aesthetic terms wild fauna species, their habitat, migration routes, wintering sites, preservation, restoration and reproduction of rare and endangered plants, fungi and lichens, listed in the national and regional Red Books, maintaining the ecological balance of the territory. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of the reserve: (a) activities entailing a change in the historically formed natural landscape, reduction or destruction of the ecological, aesthetic and recreational qualities of a natural ornithological park; (b) all types of hunting except for regulation of the number of game and scientific research purposes; (c) all types of fishing; (d) destruction or damage of reproductive and protective areas (nests, hollows, burrows and other habitats and shelters) of wild fauna species; (e) collection of wild growing plants, collection of botanical, zoological and mineralogical collections; (f) building and construction activities; (g) change of hydrological regime; (h) burning of vegetation; (i) introduction of alien species; (j) stay with firearms, hunting gear and unleashed dogs; (k) aviation pest and disease control measures; (l) thinning and sanitary felling during the brood-nesting period, cutting down hollow and faut trees; (m) passage and grazing of livestock; (n) movement, parking, fueling and washing of motor vehicles; (o) organization of mass recreational and sport events; (p) destruction or damage of barriers, notices, stands and other information signs; (q) littering of the territory; (r) discharge of untreated waste water; (s) plowing land without the consent of the authorized body; and (t) placement and storage of domestic and non-domestic waste, including radioactive, hazardous, toxic and explosive substances.
