Regional Decree No. 418 validating Regulation on artisanal and sport fishing.

This Regional Decree establishes common rules for artisanal and sport fishing in all regional waterbodies for personal consumption. Artisanal and sport fishing shall be authorized for natural persons free of charge in common use waterbodies. Artisanal and sport fishing in fishfarming waterbodies allocated to legal and natural persons shall be carried out in accordance with licences issued free of charge of requiring payment of fishing licence fees. Organization of artisanal and sport fishing as a form of entrepreneurial activity shall be authorized for legal persons and individual entrepreneurs and it shall be subject to conclusion of fishery management contract with regional administration. This Regional Decree shall be applicable either to marine fisheries or to inland fisheries. Underwater hunting (spearfishing) shall be classified as a form of artisanal fishing and shall be authorized without the use of self contained breathing apparatus outside water recreational areas. Maximum allowable number of fish hooks per fisherman shall be 4 and maximum daily quota of catch shall be 5 kg. Catch of crawfish shall be prohibited for the period from 1 October to 30 June and total allowable daily catch of crawfish shall 50 species. This Regional Decree lists authorized and prohibited fishing gear and fishing methods and authorized and prohibited fish species for artisanal and sport fishing.
