Résumé

Protected area of regional significance state nature reserve “Srednevsky beaver and Russian muskrat” is constituted for the purpose of conservation of the floodplain lands of Lake Galichskoe as habitats of Russian muskrat, river beaver, waterfowl and semi-aquatic avifauna, and maintenance of biological diversity. Protected area of regional significance state nature reserve “Srednevsky beaver and Russian muskrat” performs the following tasks: (a) conservation of the Russian muskrat; (b) maintaining the optimal abundance of the river beaver; (c) conservation of the most valuable habitats of elk, pine marten, American and European mink, otter, badger, capercaillie, black grouse and other wild fauna species classified as objects of hunting (game); and (d) conservation of valuable wetlands - habitats for waterfowl and semi-aquatic game. Protected area of regional significance state nature reserve “Srednevsky beaver and Russian muskrat” is classified as biological reserve and on its territory is restricted hunting. The following activities are prohibited on the territory of protected area of regional significance state nature reserve “Srednevsky beaver and Russian muskrat”: (a) destruction (including felling) of oak, larch, juniper (tree-like form), black alder, linden, fir, maple, elm, hazel, as well as their undergrowth or actions that could lead to their death; (b) removal of hollow trees, large trees with broken tops, suitable for use animals and birds; (c) construction; (d) placement of summer cottages and horticultural plots, plowing of land for agricultural purposes; (e) destruction of nests, clutches, burrows; (f) types of activities that may lead to pollution of territories and water areas: aviation-chemical work; the use of chemical and bacteriological means to control pests, plant diseases, weeds and low-value species of trees and shrubs, mineral fertilizers; (g) organization of tourist camps, bivouacs, making fires outside specially designated places; (h) placement of warehouses for pesticides, mineral fertilizers, fuels and lubricants; (i) introduction of alien plants and animals for the purpose of acclimatization, with the exception of re-acclimatization measures and restoration of the number of native species; (j) movement of vehicles outside the roads and established routes of movement; and (k) mining and exploration of minerals.
