Résumé

This Recommendation of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT), concerns a Multiannual Management and Conservation Programme for bigeye and/or yellowfin tunas. Contracting Parties and Cooperating non-Contracting Parties, Entities or Fishing Entities (CPCs) whose vessels fish bigeye and/or yellowfin tunas in the Convention area shall implement the Multiannual Management and Conservation Programme initiated in 2012. As from 2015, such programme shall also apply to the eastern stock of skipjack tuna. Management measures covered by the Plan include catch limits, capacity limitation, management of FADs. Control measures concern, among other things, specific authorization to fish for tropical tunas, recording, identification IUU activity, observers and compliance with area/time closure, and a Port Sampling Programme. The Plan also concerns reduction of discards and establishment of fishing management plans.
