Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force on 13 December 2016.
Résumé

The purpose of this Act, consisting of 137 sections divided into three Parts and four Schedules, is: to record the acknowledgements and apology given by the Crown to Rangitāne o Manawatu in the deed of settlement; to give effect to certain provisions of the deed of settlement that settles the historical claims of Rangitāne o Manawatu. The provisions of this Act take effect on the settlement date unless stated otherwise. Before the date on which a provision takes effect, a person may prepare or sign a document or do anything else that is required for: a) the provision to have full effect on that date; b) a power to be exercised under the provision on that date; c) a duty to be performed under the provision on that date.
