Résumé

The object of this Act, consisting of 44 sections divided into five Parts and completed by two Schedules, is to secure the protection of persons and the environment from exposure to harmful ionising and non-ionising radiation to the maximum extent that is reasonably practicable. The Act is divided into the following parts: Preliminary; Regulatory controls; Enforcement; Administration and General. For the purpose of supporting decision making of responsible authorities, this Act provides for the constitution and operation of the Radiation Advisory Council.
