This Act was brought into operation on 24 March 1975 by GN 124/1975.
Résumé

The Act makes provisions for the control of ionizing radiation. Section 2 defines, among other things, "ionizing radiation" and "radioactive substance". Manufacture, sale or having in possession of any radioactive substance or irradiating apparatus requires a license to be obtained from the Minister for the time being responsible for health. The Minister may suspend or cancel licenses in accordance with section 4. Appeal against a decision of the Minister may be had with the Governor. The Minister may impose conditions attached to a license pursuant to section 7. The Minister may make Regulations (sect. 8) and issue recommendations for protection from radiation hazards. He or she may also appoint inspectors for purposes of this Act. Offences and penalties are prescribed. (10 sections)
