Résumé The Act makes provisions for the control of ionizing radiation. Section 2 defines, among other things, "ionizing radiation" and "radioactive substance". Manufacture, sale or having in possession of any radioactive substance or irradiating apparatus requires a license to be obtained from the Minister for the time being responsible for health. The Minister may suspend or cancel licenses in accordance with section 4. Appeal against a decision of the Minister may be had with the Governor. The Minister may impose conditions attached to a license pursuant to section 7. The Minister may make Regulations (sect. 8) and issue recommendations for protection from radiation hazards.
