Résumé The present Law aims at the protection of human health from the consequences of pollution of water intended for human consumption. The Law prescribes measures to be taken in order to guarantee that the water is healthy and clean. In the Annex, the law determines parametric values for water intended for human consumption (water that is provided by the distribution network or by tank trucks, water that is placed in bottles or that is used in the food production industry). In case the minimum parameters, determined by the law, are not observed, the competent authorities shall take the appropriate measures so that the risk of distributing contaminated water is decreased or eliminated. Also they will inform the consumers providing recommendations. The Law establishes monitoring programs for the quality of water on a national level as well as taking measures which will ensure the quality of treatment, equipment and materials that are used for the treatment and the distribution of water.
