Résumé This Act, consisting of 21 sections divided into four Chapters, provides for the establishment of the Punjab Power Development Board for the implementation of policies of the Government to facilitate the private investors in power sector and to harness the energy generation resources in the Province. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Board, entitled to perform the following activities: facilitate the private investors on in matters relating to the setting up of power projects; implement the policy relating to power generation and coordinate with various governmental agencies in the field of power generation; negotiate and finalize implementation plans, feasibility and operational studies; receive fees and charges from private investors in processing of their applications for power projects; issue certificate, permission or licence for use freshwater or land for power generation; explore potential sites for hydel and coal power generation and develop non-conventional sources of energy including solar, wind, biomass, biogas and solid waste; co-ordinate with any Federal authority for installation of power houses, grid stations and transmission lines; encourage and ensure exploitation of indigenous resources for development of thermal or hydel power projects in the Province; encourage the local and foreign entities to form joint ventures for participation in the development of the power projects; acquire, if necessary, land for power projects, etc. Texte intégral Anglais Site web www.punjablaws.gov.pk
