Résumé The purpose of these Provisions is to strengthen the management of radiation safety permits, promote the safe use of radioisotopes and ray devices, and protect the public health and life safety. The Provisions consist of 33 Articles. An entity producing, selling or using radioisotope and ray devices shall, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the State Council on prevention of radioactivity from the radioisotope and ray devices, apply to obtain a permit, and make registration accordingly. The Provisions provide for the rules, procedures and requirements for the application, examination, approval, validation, renewal and cancellation of the permits. An entity producing, selling or using radioisotope and ray devices shall, before applying to obtain the permit, work out the environmental impact assessment document, and submit it to the administrative department of environmental protection for examination and approval. In addition, the Provisions provide for measures to be taken for supervision and inspection, offences and penalties.
