Sub-regulation (2) of regulation 1, concerning the scope of the Regulations, is amended in order to reflect the objectives of a) the protection of workers against risks to their health and safety, including the prevention of such risks; b) the transposition of the Commission Directive (EU) 2020/739 regarding the inclusion of SARS-CoV-2 in the list of biological agents; c) transpose Commission Directive (EU) 2019/1833 as regards purely technical adjustments. This regulations further amend schedule I, III, V and VI of the principal Regulations.
