Résumé

This Order lays down control rules and measures to combat African horse sickness in conformity with Council Directive 92/35/EEC. The occurrence or suspicion of African horse sickness is subject to compulsory and immediate notification to the competent veterinary authority of the Ministry of Agriculture. Where a holding contains one or more equidae suspected of being infected with African horse sickness, then the official veterinarian immediately sets in motion official means of investigation to confirm or rule out the presence of the said sickness. As far as vaccination against African horse sickness is concerned, it may be practised solely in accordance with the provisions laid down in this Order. Where the presence of African horse sickness is officially confirmed, the competent Veterinary Service (at regional level) shall proceed according specific steps laid down to this Order (article 6) and shall establish a protection and a surveillance zone. Where the African horse sickness epizootic is exceptionally serious in a particular region, the central Veterinary Service of the Ministry shall issue additional measures and shall draw up a contingency plan, specifying how it will implement the measures laid down in this Order.
