The main tasks of the Committee are: 1) elaboration of the proposals for the formation of the state land policy, regulation of land relations, protection and monitoring of land, and also keeping state land cadastre and implementation of the aforesaid policy; 2) coordination and carrying out land reform in the Ukraine; 3) carrying out the state control over land use and land conservation; 4) keeping land cadastre and carrying out land survey; 5) renewal of the fertile soil layer. The State Committee on Land Resources shall carry out the following functions : 1) elaboration of the state programs regarding privatization of land, rational land tenure, conservation and monitoring of soil, and also keeping the state land cadastre ; 2) land valuation ; 3) registration of the plots of land and contracts of land lease ; 4) land survey ; 5) land monitoring ; 6) data collection regarding land relations and creation of database ; 7) coordination of the topographic, cartographic and geodetic activity.
