Résumé This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of the Ministry of Industry (MIND). This Statute, consisting of 20 articles divided into four Chapters and two Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Ministry. The Ministry of Industry has the following duties: to ensure the implementation of the national policy in the field of industrial transformation and processing; develop programmes related to industrial development; support industrial operators by promoting discipline in the conduct of their activities; promote and guarantee the quality of industrial products; approve technical regulations relating to the quality of products, industrial processes and industrial safety; promote the application of the system of guarantee and protection of industrial property and geographical indications; ensure the national supervision of the exercise of industrial activities, preventing and suppressing non-conformity and infringements; promote the collaboration with other public services, with competence to intervene in the system of supervision of the national industry; support and encourage the increase of national industrial production; encourage, support and promote the rational use and transformation of national products of plant, mineral, forestry and animal origin, in order to create production chains and added value to national production, respecting the environment throughout the national territory; stimulate public and private investment contributing to the fundamental objectives of the country's economic and industrial development; etc. Texte intégral Portugais Site web www.legis-palop.org
